A Saturday French school for francophone families in Kent
Looking for French classes in Maidstone? Bienvenue a la Petite Ecole Kentoise de Maidstone!
Every Saturday morning, we welcome bilingual and French-speaking children aged 3 to 16 for immersive lessons entirely en français.
Here, your child can grow up bilingual, confident, and connected to your Langue Maternelle, right here in Maidstone.

Who is PEK for?
We’re a not-for-profit FLAM school (Français Langue Maternelle) based in Kent, open to children with at least one French-speaking parent or carer.
Many of our families are long settled in the UK, and want their children to:
keep up with their cousins in France
build confidence in speaking and writing French
stay connected to francophone culture
A la PEK, le français reste vivant — naturellement.
Why choose PEK?
Immersive French classes, no English spoken in class
Qualified, native-speaking teachers and dedicated TAs
Friendly community of francophone families in Kent
Focus on speaking, reading and writing
Affordable fees
Support with GCSE and A-level French
A touch of France, every Saturday
"Pour nos enfants de la culture française, de la poésie et des chansons, tout ceci dans la convivialité!"

Testimonials
"Knowledge of several living languages is an important asset in today's society. If you want your children to have this advantage, Maidstone PEK is the perfect school. Do not hesitate to talk about this great school around you."
Jérôme
"For me, PEK is a friendly place where my daughter learns French with her friends. The reception is very warm. Every Saturday is a real pleasure to play, share and learn with other French speakers."

A member of the FLAM network
PEK is part of the FLAM (Français Langue Maternelle) network, supported by the Agence pour l’Enseignement Français a l’étranger (AEFE).
This network brings together schools like ours from across the UK and the world, all working to support bilingual francophone children living outside France.
We do not teach French as a foreign language (FLE). Our children already understand spoken French, even if they sometimes reply in English!
Register your child
We welcome new pupils twice a year – in September and January – to help children settle into their class groups smoothly. Free taster sessions are available on these months only, depending on class capacity.
Outside of enrolment periods, you’re very welcome to join our waiting list. We’ll be in touch in due course and keep you up to date with relevant PEK news.
(Sept or Jan only)
